Ruth's House and Safe Families Canada collaboration are a movement fueled by compassion to keep children safe and families intact.

Come and learn about a new ministry of hospitality called Safe Families. It is an outreach ministry seeking to support struggling families in the community by offering short-term care of their children in the home of a Christian Host Family.

Parents experiencing a temporary crisis can arrange for their children (newborn through 18 years old) to stay with Safe Families volunteers while they address the issues that led to the instability in their lives. It is a positive prevention program allowing parents to work out their problems without having to worry about losing custody of their children.

Host Families are recruited from local churches and screened and trained thoroughly. They serve without compensation and their churches are encouraged to further reach out and support the parents of the children placed in their care. Safe Families is an opportunity for volunteers to have a powerful impact in the lives of others while practicing biblical hospitality and extending the love of Christ to people in need — all from their own home! And it is a platform to connect local church congregations to those in great need in their community. An information session will be held on:
